Some people complain that Adsense is not profitable, so they must join some other pay per click advertising. Well, it may not be that simple too. Whether it’s Adsense or any other pay per click network, number of clicks depends on the right placement of ads. It matters most that how many times your visitors see ads. Your visitors may ignore the ads couple of times they see on your site, but they cannot avoid clicking if ad comes to them again and again.
As it’s very clear that placement matters most, here I’ll tell you the better placements and some tweaking on your pages. Remember one thing that showing ads to your visitors do not mean to rush your pages with ads. Doing this will loses the essence of readability, so think of a placement where ads appear more frequently and it doesn’t harm readability too. Header is one such example. You can test some positions in sidebar too. In content ads also work good most of the time; either insert the ads right below the title of the article or just after first paragraph when user has just got into the topic.
Other than the placement, I discussed repetition in the beginning. Repetition in the form of bombarding your page with ads can have negative impact, so play wisely here. I’d recommend having a navigation which shows the user related articles, most viewed articles, most commented articles etc, which entertain user to explore more pages on site. The more pages your user explore, the more page impressions and clicks you get.
Well, these are just few examples. Depending on your niche, type of content, design and traffic you can make changes. Keep on testing different placements and stick to one which works better for you.
Great blog, . I really enjoyed it.
